FAQ: In which area should I live in Jakarta?

We get this question a lot in the group.
Kemang in South Jakarta is where a lot of expats live in. It's very convenient for moms as it has international schools, access to lots of shops, restaurants, and playdates.

BUT this is Jakarta. The mother of all traffic jams. So a general answer won't do. Here's the strategy to living sanely in Jakarta:

• First you need to find out where you or your husband's office will be
• Then check out if there are any good schools around for your kids within the radius, and look for a place within that area. 

Believe me, no one wants to spend 2 hours in the car to commute. That's 2 hours less to spend with your kids!
