I continued reading the book of Kings. It explained how Solomon was the wisest king, but in the end fell because he simply lost focus. Lesson: even when things are going very well, stay guarded, don't let sin creep up on you.
Then I read about Nathan the prophet. How he told David's wife to take action to ensure Solomon will become king. Nathan doesn't just pray. He takes action too. That's what I need to do. Pray and take action when I know what to do. Not just sit around and have good intentions. Act. Of course when I don't know what actions I need to take, I'd still need to pray and ask God.
The most valuable lesson I had from connecting with God yesterday was the reminder that human beings cannot imitate God's love for me.
I can't expect another human being to fully love me, understand me, listen to me, be there for me. It wouldn't be fair to that person since they just don't have the capacity to do that.
Only God can do that. Even the person who loves you most will still dissapoint you. And it's ok. My family loves me more than anything, and they've dissapointed me. I'm sure I dissapoint them too. But all is still well.
